Thinking aloud

A Nordic-Baltic conference on philosophy and democracy in schools, “Thinking aloud,” will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland on February 27th and 28th 2009. The Institute of Philosophy at the University of Iceland organizes the conference in cooperation with partners from all the Nordic countries and Latvia. Among the partners are institutions from all school levels, pre-schools, elementary and secondary schools and universities as well as private philosophy schools for children and young people.

The conference includes two conference days, school visits, a pre-conference workshop and a program for travelling and socialization. The conference day will finish with a discussion among all participants about what has emerged and how we can continue the development of philosophy in the schools in the Nordic-Baltic area.
